I am so fortunate to be a Davidson County graduate. Growing up, I attended Reeds Elementary, Tyro Middle and West Davidson High School. After high school, I enjoyed sun and fun in Daytona Beach, Florida for one year. Afterwards I returned home and enrolled at High Point University with a major in Elementary Education. During the Fall of 2001, I was chosen to be an exchange student at Oxford University in England. During my semester abroad I had the wonderful opportunity to visit many beautiful areas and learn various cultures. In May 2002 I graduated from High Point University Summa Cum Laude.
After one year of teaching, I decided continue my education by enrolling in graduate school. I graduated from Gardner-Webb University in 2006 with a Masters in School Administration. In 2007, I was appointed to the Assistant Principalship at Davis-Townsend Elementary School where I remained for four years. I was then split between Reeds Elementary and Tyro Elementary Schools for one year. Starting with the 2010-2011 school year, I was appointed as the Principal at Tyro Elementary.
Following my first year of the principalship I decided to return to High Point University to earn my Doctorate in Educational Leadership. My anticipated graduation date is May 6, 2017. I look forward to completing this degree as it has always been something I've wanted to professionally achieve.
I truly love being in the Tyro community where I can continue building loving relationships with children and their families.
