Elementary Battle of the Books
The Tyro Elementary Battle of the Books team will be comprised of 4th and 5th grade students. The EBOB Team is a wonderful opportunity for students to read some exciting novels and then demonstrate their book knowledge while competing against all of the other elementary school EBOB teams in our county.
Any upcoming 4th and 5th grade student interested in participating on the 2023-2024 Tyro Elementary Battle of the Books team will need their parent to complete the Google Form below.
Davidson County Schools Elementary Battle of the Books Information and Google Form
Students will be expected to read any 2 titles from the 2023-2024 EBOB list and then take a test. If he or she passes this test, your child will be given the opportunity to advance to the next level in the selection process. The next level includes taking a test on the authors and titles on the included list and test on another book from the same list.
Students must commit to reading each of the novels on the EBOB list throughout the year as well as keep up with homework and class assignments. EBOB students must maintain ROAR (Respectful, Organized, Attentive and Responsible) behavior in class as well as EBOB meetings and at the competition. Even though parents will be giving permission by completing the Google form above, students will also need to have parents complete the attached paper form-if you haven't done so already. Meetings will be held during school hours when possible but on occasion may be held after school.
